What HIU commissioning involves
We work to the manufacturer commissioning sheet and the scheme specification together. Flow rates are set and measured, not assumed. The differential pressure control valve is set to the value the design calls for at that position on the riser. Setpoints are configured, and then the unit is run through DHW and heating demands with the achieved temperatures recorded. Finally we prove the unit shuts fully so it is not bleeding heat into the return when idle.
