Saniflo repair across London and the M25, usually the same day. Our engineers strip, clean, diagnose and repair every Saniflo and macerator model — blocked units that will not flush, pumps that keep running, motors that hum without pumping, leaks from the bottom of the casing and units that trip the electrics. We carry membranes, microswitches, pressure switches, cutter blades and motors in the van, so most faults are fixed on the first visit rather than quoted for a return.

Blocked Saniflo and blockage removal
A blocked Saniflo is the single most common call we take. The symptoms are familiar: the toilet will not flush, the bowl fills and drains slowly, or the unit runs and runs without clearing. Almost always the obstruction sits inside the macerator chamber rather than in the pan — wet wipes, sanitary products, cotton buds, kitchen roll or scale that has narrowed the discharge. We isolate the electrical supply, drain the chamber down, strip the casing, remove the obstruction by hand, inspect the cutter blades for damage and flush-test the discharge pipe to the stack before reassembly.
Blocked saniflo and saniflo blocked fault diagnosis
Saniflo won't flush or toilet not flushing through the unit
Chamber stripped, cleared and re-sealed
Discharge pipework checked for scale and partial blockage
Saniflo keeps running and will not stop
When a Saniflo keeps running, cuts in on its own or will not stop running after a flush, the fault is in the control side rather than the pump. A perished pressure membrane, a sticking pressure switch or a failed microswitch leaves the unit believing there is still water in the chamber. Sometimes it is simpler — a dribbling cistern valve keeps topping the chamber up so the unit cycles every few minutes. We test the switch operation, replace the membrane and microswitch assembly where needed, and fix the feeding fault so the unit is not left cycling itself to death.

Leaking cistern valve corrected so the unit stops cycling
Saniflo leaking and overflowing
Leaks show up in three places. Water at the base usually means the casing seal or the chamber body has failed; a Saniflo leaking from the bottom of the motor housing is generally beyond economic repair and we will say so plainly. Water at the inlet is a perished pan connector rubber, which is a quick fix. Overflowing from the top happens when the discharge is blocked or the non-return valve has failed and waste is draining back into the chamber. We pressure-test the discharge run and replace the non-return valve as part of the repair.
Pump and motor faults
If the Saniflo pump is not working, the motor is not working, or the unit hums but does not pump, the diagnosis follows a set order: confirm the supply, check the thermal cut-out has not tripped, test the capacitor, then check whether the blade assembly is seized. A Saniflo making noise — grinding, rattling or a high-pitched whine — usually means the cutter blade has worn or a hard object is trapped against it. A unit tripping the electrics points at water ingress into the motor or a failed capacitor and must not be repeatedly reset. We replace motors, capacitors and blade assemblies with genuine parts and re-test under load.

Humming but not pumping, seized blade assembly
Saniflo making noise, grinding or vibrating
Unit tripping electrics or tripping the RCD
Blade replacement, descaling and cleaning service
London water is hard, and scale is what eventually kills a macerator. Our descaling and cleaning service strips the unit, removes scale from the chamber walls and the impeller, replaces the cutter blade if it has lost its edge, renews the casing seals and flushes the discharge pipe. Done once a year in a busy household or a rented flat, it prevents the majority of emergency call-outs and extends the life of the unit by years. We recommend it for any unit over three years old that is starting to sound louder than it used to.
Smells and hygiene
A Saniflo that smells is telling you something is left in the chamber. Usually it is a build-up of fat, paper residue or scale inside the body, sometimes it is a dry or siphoned trap on a basin or shower feeding into the unit, and occasionally the non-return valve has failed and the discharge pipe is draining back. We clean and sanitise the chamber, check every appliance trap feeding the unit, and replace the valve where the smell is coming back up the discharge line.
Saniflo replacement and installation
Not every unit is worth repairing. Where the motor has failed, the body is leaking or the unit has been fitted with the wrong model for the appliances connected to it, replacement is the honest answer. We will tell you the repair cost and the replacement cost side by side and let you decide. Full details of new units, macerator toilet installations and pump swaps are on our Saniflo installation and replacement page.
Emergency same-day Saniflo repair
When the macerator serves the only WC in a flat, a repair cannot wait. We hold same-day slots every day across London and the M25 and run a 24 hour emergency service for properties with no working toilet, for offices and for managed blocks. Call 0208 935 5572 and we will confirm an arrival window, the call-out charge and the likely parts before the engineer is dispatched.
