Stuart Turner faults we repair
On Monsoon shower pumps the usual calls are a pump that runs continuously, a pump that will not start when the shower is opened, a pump that hums but does not turn, and one that has become alarmingly noisy. Those map onto a small set of causes: a failed flow or pressure switch, an airlock in the hot feed, a seized impeller after a period of standing, a failed run capacitor, or worn bearings. On Aquaboost sets the faults are more often vessel pre-charge, controller settings or a passing non-return valve.
- Flow and pressure switch failure
- Airlocks in the hot feed from the cylinder
- Seized impellers after standing or running dry
- Failed run capacitors on single-phase motors
- Worn bearings causing noise and vibration
- Leaking mechanical seals and body joints
