When a booster pump should be replaced
We replace rather than repair when the pump body or impeller stack is eroded beyond a seal kit, when the manufacturer no longer supplies spares, when the motor has failed on a pump that has already been rebuilt, or when the set is simply too small for the building it serves. An undersized set gives itself away: it runs almost continuously, runs hot, and still cannot hold pressure at the top floor during morning peak. Replacing that pump with the same model guarantees the same complaint.
- Eroded pump bodies and worn impeller stacks
- Obsolete sets with no available spares
- Repeat motor or seal failures
- Sets undersized for current occupancy or demand
- Noisy fixed-speed sets in residential blocks
